1,500 MD State Workers Vote AFSCME(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Nearly 1,500 state workers in Maryland have  voted to join AFSCME. State employees in the Office of the Comptroller, Department of Education, Retirement and Pension System and Transportation Authority in Annapolis voted overwhelmingly (69.1%) to join AFSCME 3 recently. “State workers deserve the same right to vote for collective bargaining if we choose to that most other workers already have,” said state worker Jody Curry (in center with thumbs up), “And nearly 70% of my co-workers and I voted yes, for AFSCME 3 and collective bargaining.” The workers will be represented by AFSCME Council 3 Locals 1535, 1803 and 3644.
