DC JwJ Announces (Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

Amidst cheers and jeers, Rob Walton and Walmart were named “Scrooge of the Year” at DC Jobs with Justice’s annual Winter Cabaret last weekend. Despite stiff competition from Verizon Board member Clarence Otis, Ahold USA, and others, activists agreed Walmart had been the worst to workers in the District and truly deserved the dubious distinction. Along with the crowning of Scrooge of the Year, DC JwJ also announced a relaunch of their website, www.dcjwj.org. The new site features information about ongoing campaigns and projects, as well as a blog with guest entries from local activists. - screen shot from DC JwJ website
