warmth of solidarity was never more evident
than last night in Annapolis as several hundred
labor activists gathered closely together in
sub-freezing temperatures for a jobs rally at
the State Capitol...

Community Supports Those in Need: From
a union member burned out of his house to
Daycon strikers still out of work, the metro DC
labor community dug deep to support families in
need this past holiday season…

Turn Out to "Defend Occupy DC"
(right): The mood in McPherson
Square was festive as occupiers were joined by
hundreds of allies, reporters, and lunch-hour
onlookers eager to see what would happen at
noon, the time the National Park Service had
warned Occupy DC that it would begin enforcing
the park service’s no-camping
regulations...

for Gold" a Shining Success

"Bowling Stones" to the United Mine Workers'
"Coal Strikers," nearly 100 teams from across
the metro area labor community came together to
strike down pins and raise money for the
Community Services Agency’s Emergency
Assistance Fund yesterday at the 20th annual
Bowling for Gold bowling
tournament…

Station Store: The unexpected sounds of
brass instruments echoed through Union Station
last night as commuters turned to watch an
unusual gathering in front of the Verizon
store...

Conference (right): Over 1,200
labor and community activists turned out in
force at two demonstrations Friday outside the
Conservative Political Action Conference
(CPAC)…

Safeway Workers Rally Customer Support As
Bargaining Battle Heats Up: Hundreds of
UFCW Local 400 members headed into Giant and
Safeway stores in Maryland, Virginia, and DC
yesterday to ask for customer support in their
battle for a fair contract…
