"Candlelight Campaign Against Cuts" Actions Target Hoyer and Van Hollen

Thursday, December 6, 2012

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Labor and community allies are mobilizing for local Candlelight Campaign Against Cuts actions Monday at 4p at the Rockville, Greenbelt and Waldorf district offices of Congressman Steny Hoyer and Congressman Chris Van Hollen. “Working people need more economic security, not less,” said Metro Council President Jos Williams. “We need to reject proposals to grant more tax cuts for the richest 2% of Americans - at a cost of $ 1 trillion over ten years – while cutting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid benefits under the guise of a manufactured fiscal crisis, and hold Congress accountable.”
