Labor-Endorsed Candidate Greg Hall Appointed to Vacant District 24 Delegate Seat(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Greg Hall (at right), who was endorsed by the Metro Washington Council in 2010 but narrowly lost to Tiffany Alston as Delegate in the 24th Legislative District, will complete Alston’s term. The Prince George's County Democratic Central Committee (PGCDCC) voted on Friday to send Hall's name to Gov. Martin O'Malley to be appointed to fill the seat recently vacated by Alston. The Council had reiterated its support for Hall to the PGCDCC and Prince George's and Montgomery County COPE Chair Doris Reed testified in his support, urging the PGCDCC to “make an investment” in their fellow committee member. Born and raised in Prince George's County, Hall became involved in politics through the guidance of former State Senator Tommie Broadwater, the first black Senator to represent Prince George's County. In 2002 Hall became President of the Prince George's County Young Democrats and was instrumental in helping to elect current County Councilman Will Campos, later serving as his Special Assistant. Hall later went on to work as a community development specialist for the PG Department of Public Works. “We saw something special in Greg Hall in 2010 and are very pleased that he’ll be given an opportunity to serve the people of the 24th District,” said Metro Washington Council President Jos Williams.
