Labor Photo: Rallying for Gaming Jobs(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Workers of all kinds -- construction workers, service workers, teachers, police and firefighters – turned out last Friday to voice their support for Question 7, which would expand gaming in the State of Maryland. Among those speaking out were Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker, representatives of county police and firefighters, teachers, John Boardman, Executive-Secretary-Treasurer of UNITE HERE Local 25 and Washington Building and Construction Trades Council President Vance Ayres, as well as leaders and members of Ironworkers 201, Ironworkers 5, Asbestos Workers 24, Plumbers, Painters 51 and Laborers 657. Also represented were the PG Chamber of Commerce, the PG Business Roundtable, nearby residents and the Diversity Director from MGM Resorts.
