NoVA GOTV Labor Effort Continues to Build(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)The labor effort to get out the vote in Northern Virginia continued to build as nearly 200 union members participated in last Saturday’s Labor to Labor precinct walks. Labor-endorsed US Senate candidate Tim Kaine, along with AFGE President J. David Cox, rallied the group before they hit the streets. Among the volunteers was an enthusiastic busload from the Maryland AFL-CIO, and the Boilermakers brought its touring RV for more support. “Door-knockers said they received strong words of support for Obama and Kaine,” reports NoVA president Dan Duncan. Precinct walks and phone banking continue daily out of the NoVA Labor office (4536-B John Marr Drive, Annandale 22003) through Election Day.
