Monday, October 8, 2012

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)The DC Nurse’s Association cancelled its picket scheduled for tomorrow ("Another Union to Picket Howard," UC 10/2/2012) after Howard University Hospital (HUH) agreed to return to the bargaining table late last Friday afternoon. DCNA HUH President Agnes Addington credited her union’s members’ “courageous stand against a powerful institution,” noting that the hospital “finally recognized the urgent need to negotiate with DCNA because union members demanded that we take job action.” Negotiations have been scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week.
