Future of the Labor Movement Gathers in DC

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Members of the DC Young Trade Unionists and NoVa Young Emerging Labor Leaders (YELL) didn't have to travel far to meet young labor leaders from across the country this weekend as the AFL-CIO held its first Young Worker Leadership Institute. The 3-day event gave young labor activists from Alaska to California, New York to Texas, "training on organizing, leading and building teams, communications strategies and other skills needed to be involved in their union and encourage other young workers to be more active" reports the AFL-CIO NOW Blog.
