"IN Charge" Puts Spotlight on Local's Service

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)IBEW Local 26’s 2012 Motorcycle Riders’ Club Poker Run raised over $8,000 for the Special Love for Children with Cancer charity earlier this year. Over 130 riders gathered at the Local 26 union hall on April 21 “to take to the open road” in support of the cause, reports IN Charge, Local 26’s quarterly magazine. Also included in the latest edition are columns from the local’s leadership, as well as a report on Local 26’s participation in the 4th Annual AFL-CIO Capital Area Sporting Clays Shoot on June 1, the June 4 Local 26 Golf Outing, which raised money for Dollars Against Diabetes (DAD), and the May donation by the Retired Members’ Club to the Community Services Agency’s Shoebox Program. - photos of Poker run (above) and (from left) Sonny Myers, John Carter, Barry Rose, Rich Murphy, Butch Ramos, Dave Hogan, George Hogan, and Jerry Lewis at Clay Shoot (below) courtesy of Local 26
