"We Want MORE!" Say Union City Readers

Tuesday, July 24, 2012

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Union City continues to be a valued daily resource for its 30,000 area readers, according to our most recent Reader Survey. “I love Union City newsletter,” wrote one reader. “It's precise, just meaty enough to get some education and quick info.  I think the newsletter is just perfect for a daily bit of information.” A whopping 77% report “always” reading Union City, which is up 6% from our last survey. “The labor history pieces inform and inspire every time,” wrote another reader, reflecting the labor history feature’s continuing popularity; at 62% it’s just behind local labor news which is favored by 72% of our readers. “People have been working for social and economic justice for a long time, dammit. There's more work to do! Let's go!”  Though most readers love Union City “just the way you are,” there were some suggestions for ways to improve, which we’re working on now. Mostly, as one reader wrote, “Like Sam Gompers said, We want MORE - more Union City local stories about labor in action, more alerts about upcoming events, more photos, more profiles, more more more.” Remember that you can always submit story ideas online or just by hitting “reply” to the Union City email. Also, you can follow us on Twitter @dclabor for latest updates on local labor news. Congrats to D. Henry, Merritt Bussiere and MaryKay Canarte, the lucky winners in our Union City Reader Survey prize drawing; your DC Labor FilmFest t-shirts are on their way!
