Activists, "T-Mobile Girl" say "Bring Jobs Home"

Thursday, July 12, 2012

Activists, (Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)At today’s noontime rally activists – along with their very own “T-Mobile Girl” – will speak out about T-Mobile closing call centers and offshoring jobs. Activists are joining delegations across the country in visiting T-Mobile stores to voice their opposition to the closing of seven call centers – and resulting elimination of 3,300 jobs – and calling on T-Mobile to “bring jobs home.” On Tuesday House Republicans blocked a vote on the Bring Jobs Home Act (H.R.5542); the Senate is expected to take up its version of the bill (S. 2884) later this month. Playing off the well-known "T-Mobile Girl" commercials, and the Communications Workers of America (CWA) "No More Mr. Nice T-Mobile" parody, the rally will feature a "T-Mobile girl" -- motorcycle and all -- on scene to inform customers about T-Mobile's offshoring.
