DC JwJ to Celebrate Local Activists
Friday, June 15, 2012(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)This year’s DC Jobs with Justice (JwJ) “I’ll Be There” Awards – coming up on June 21 – will celebrate four individuals and groups who have truly “been there” for DC JwJ in fights for justice across the District. Netfa Freeman of the Institute for Policy Studies will emcee the evening as they honor Reverend Raymond C. Bell of the Spirit of Love and Deliverance Baptist Church, CWA’s Carrie Biggs-Adams, the Kalmanovitz Initiative for Labor and the Working Poor at Georgetown University, and the United Group of Occupy DC. Donations to DC JwJ will be accepted ahead of time and at the door; no one turned away for lack of funds.
