Bakers OK Contract at Vie de France

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Union members at Vie de France in Alexandria okayed a “good settlement” last weekend, reports Bakers Local 118 president Al Haight. The 150 workers won union orientation language in their contract for the first time, along with maintaining healthcare coverage without any increased cost as well as improvements in wages over the 4-year life of the contract. Negotiations with Giant and Safeway start next month.
