Local Verizon Contract Struggle Featured on New Labor Radio Talk Show

“Labor's Talk Radio” is coming to DC, starting this Sunday, May 6. The
Pittsburgh-based
show will air on WPWC 1480 AM in Washington Northern Virginia from 4 to 6p.
This Sunday’s show features an interview with CWA 2108 President Marilyn Irwin
(at right), taped
yesterday “live” from the local’s demonstration outside Verizon in Silver
Spring. "WPWC is committed to raising the voices of America's working men
and women,” says WPWC co-owner Alex Lawson, “and with The Union Edge
joining
the We Act Radio family we are closer to fulfilling that commitment." The
Sunday, 4-6pm broadcast of The Union Edge, Labor's Talk Radio will also air an
interview with NoVA Labor President Dan Duncan, programming segments from
Workers Independent News, populist Jim Hightower and
Free Press Media Minutes along with national interviews,
Labor History,
the Lawyer is In and Off the Clock, The American Way TV hunting and fishing
shows produced by union members. Listeners can tune in on WPWC 1480 AM, hear
