Labor On the Move: Andy Richards Moves to AFL-CIO's New Digital Strategies Dept

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Former Assistant Mobilizer Andy Richards (at right), who most recently worked in the AFL-CIO’s field communications program, has moved over to the AFL-CIO’s new Digital Strategies Department to work on the national’s new media program. “I am excited to be staying with the AFL-CIO and working to help build on the strong online presence we already have,” Richards told Union City.  “It will be great to be using the skills I first learned at the DC Labor Council and refined through the AFL-CIO’s Field Communications program to apply them in our efforts to stop the concerted attacks on working families by corporate-funded politicians and right-wing extremists who want to further consolidate control of our country into the hands of the 1%.” - photo of Richards walking the line in solidarity with striking ironworkers at Foggy Bottom in February, 2010; photo by Adam Wright
