CSA's News You Can Use: The Shoebox Project(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)The elderly, veterans and the homeless in our area need a little help. Travel size shampoo, soap and lotion, for example. Lip balm, plastic baggies or a small flash light. The Community Services Agency is supporting a new United Way project that will distribute shoeboxes filled with toiletries or emergency preparedness items to those most in need. The Shoebox Project runs through June 1; for information about having shoeboxes picked-up, dropped-off, a list of items, volunteer opportunities, or if you would like to purchase a pre-packaged shoebox, email Kathleen McKirchy at kmckirch@dclaborarchives.org or call 202-974-8221.
