IATSE Targets Anti-Union AV Company

Downtown workers on their lunch break Thursday were surprised to come upon a banner at the corner of 16th and L streets accusing the American Association of University Women (AAUW) of being “Unfair.” AAUW is one of more than 100 organizations and businesses across the country targeted by IATSE for using Swank Audio Visual Services, an events contractor refusing to hire union workers. The sign was carried by members of IATSE 22 in a solidarity campaign with six other IATSE locals nationwide demanding that those needing audio visual services hire union companies and urge Swank to hire union workers. - photo by Julia Kann
