Mexican Worker Rights Struggle Continues at DC Demo Today(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Despite 50,000 activists taking to the streets around the world a year ago, the struggle for workers rights in Mexico continues, including at a noontime action today at the Mexican Embassy in downtown DC. Workers in Mexico continue to be denied fundamental rights while independent unions face violent and political attack. In response, unions in Mexico and at the international level have escalated actions demanding workers’ rights, with activists preparing to mobilize tomorrow again in global worker solidarity.
